In an interesting interview in GreenBuilder magazine entitled “Deferred Payment”,  John Norquist talks about Roads and Land Use.  John, an urban planner, puts forth that Transit has three functions: movement, social interaction, and economy.  The old road building plans that we are currently funding with stimulus money are exactly what we should not be building.

It is going to take a MASSIVE societal shift to get Americans out of their cars! But what other choice do we really have?

Ah, but in making these better choices, we will benefit not only transit, but also societal interaction and the economy. Sound like a good choice to me.

I treasure this video. It made me feel ECSTATIC!!! since I battle with my environment everyday because of sprawl.
